Vintage Hollywood Train Case for my Graphic 45 Retreat
Here it is! The adorable mini train case we will be creating at my Graphic 45 Workshop Retreat in April! For more info and to sign up, click >HERE<. This is a different technique for creating a box project. I saw one on Country Craft Creations and followed along to make a prototype. I did tweak it just a tiny bit but the basic construction is the same and it is so easy! You'll love it. This method was originally designed by Becky Roberts of Inking Idaho. This box technique is really great for those of you who don't have a cutter strong enough to cut chipboard. It's created out of cardstock and patterned papers (several layers) and is very, very sturdy. And you can cut it all with a regular trimmer!
For those of you signed up for this retreat or thinking of signing up--it is a workshop retreat. That means that the only "kit" pre-cut for you is any with chipboard pieces. At the retreat you will receive full size 12 x 12, 8 1/2 x 11 or 8 x 8 papers for your projects that you will cut and score as instructed. I feel it's important that as a papercrafter you learn and get used to cutting out your own projects so you can go on to create more! Plus we have all weekend to get them done!
I designed a mini passport album using the Graphic 45 Vintage Hollywood collection that will fit inside your train case and yes, you will be making it too at the workshop retreat! It's also made out of cardstock by cutting and scoring. I can't show you photos of it just yet as I designed it for Graphic 45 and submitted it to them for their blog. Once it's been posted, I'll share photos but don't worry, you will be able to create it at the April retreat. Here's a sneak peek of it inside the train case:
You will be creating 4 main projects at the workshop retreat: 1) Portrait of a Lady Card Folio with six A2 cards, 2) Nature Sketchbook Mini Box Album, 3) Cafe Parisian OR Nature Sketchbook Treasure Box AND Album that fits inside, 4) Vintage Hollywood Train Case and Mini Passport Album. But that's not all, I'm gathering supplies for you to do a few mini classes/make & takes such as 1) Learning to tie a pretty bow on your fingers, 2) Making a decorative paper clip for your projects, 3) Fussy Cutting images from paper for embellishments, 4) Creating a Graphic 45 Tag and maybe a few more as I think of them. It's going to be lots of fun! If you've been on the fence about signing up, now's the time! April 6th will be here before we know it!!
Happy Crafting,
Sandy
