Graphic 45 Cityscapes Suitcase
Happy Friday! We've had lots and lots of rain today which is really a good thing because usually in August, in Texas, it is very hot and dry. So we are all happy, the grass is happy, the flowers are happy, the trees are happy, the lakes are happy and it's a whole lot cooler now. All of that has absolutely nothing to do with today's project share but I thought I'd go ahead and get it out of the way. Ha, ha.
This is my second suitcase that I've designed. It's made exactly the same as the World's Fair Suitcase that I shared weeks ago and that I taught at Flossie Scrapper in July. What's unique about the design of my suitcase is how the inside supports are made and that it has a hidden, false bottom inside. The July class was full and there were some who really wanted to take the class so Vicky and I got together and decided that I would teach it again but with the Graphic 45 Cityscapes paper collection instead.

The store is located at 3509 SW Wilshire Blvd, Joshua, Texas which is actually between Joshua and Burleson. This will be a two part class for one fee. The class in October will be to make the suitcase using this fabulous Graphic 45 Cityscapes paper and in November you will make your mini album that goes inside the suitcase and a few other fun little inserts. The class fee is $85 and includes pre-cut chipboard for the suitcase and album, pre-cut Cityscapes paper for both, hardware for your suitcase: metal corners, latches, hinges and brads. It will NOT include the flowers or other decorative elements on the outside of the suitcase shown in these photos. You can purchase the same Prima flowers from Vicky at Flossie Scrapper. You will need to procure and bring your own charms such as the butterfly, key and locket piece on the front as well as any metal sprockets if desired. My cameo locket on the front was a junk piece that I bought at a trade day booth and I added the photo from the paper collection. (The original cameo in the center had fallen out). Since the class isn't until October, you'll have lots of time to look through your own jewelry or bits and pieces or have fun shopping and browsing at antique malls, garage sales etc. I'm constantly searching for beautiful and interesting pieces to add to my collection as you never know when one will be just perfect like this one.
Okay, I know this post is long. I'll condense it some for you:
- The class for this Cityscape Suitcase will be in October at Flossie Scrapper and the part 2 of the class will be in November to create the mini album. (I'll try to post photos of the album next week.) Check with Vicky for the class dates.
- The pre-cut chipboard and Cityscape papers are included in your class fee to make the suitcase and album. The fee also includes eight metal corners, two latches, two hinges and all the brads needed to attach those to your suitcase.
- The class fee will not include the flowers, charms, key or locket piece.
- The class fee is $85 and pre-registration/payment is required to reserve your place as product will have to be ordered and pre-cut for you. If you know you want to take this class, I suggest you sign up now.
If you've taken this class using the Graphic 45 World's Fair paper and would like to make this one too, you are welcome to sign up if space is available. The fee cost is the same but you do get to spend another Saturday or two with me. Ha, ha.
I have not forgotten those of you who are working on the World's Fair suitcase project. The part 2 of your class will be on Saturday, August 27th for you to create your World's Fair album and inserts. You will get a supply list email next week.
Look at the inside of this adorable suitcase. Can you tell where the false bottom is? It's really wonderful as there is room to hide notes and photos and such inside of a hidden pocket.
