There is "Snow" Friend Like You...
Yep, it's winter for those of us in the USA and most of us have been experiencing extreme temps for days or weeks. It has finally got back to nearly normal for us in Texas but now we have rain. Oh well, another good reason to stay inside and craft. Oh wait, I use any excuse to stay in an craft. Ha. ha.
Today starts our first Digi Haven challenge for 2014. Our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps and I picked out this cute "Winter Bird" image for the Digi Haven challenge theme "Baby It's Cold Outside." It's a snow globe. I colored it with my Copic markers:
- Birds B0000, B000, B01
- Beaks Y18
- Large Bird's Scarf and Boots R81, R83, R85
- Small Bird's Scarf and Hat R39, R56, R59
- Snow Globe Base C1, C2, C4
- Snow Globe Glass B60, 0 Colorless Blender
The patterned papers for this card are from a new 6x6 paper pad I bought. It's from Fancy Pants "Beloved" Collection. Of course I love it, there's PINK! I cut out the snow globe image with my Tim Holtz scissors and matted it to a snowflake doily that I cut out with my Big Shot and a MFT die. I then matted that piece to the card background with foam tape. I punched small snowflakes with a Martha Stewart snowflake punch and added them to the image. It's a pretty simple card and could be easily sent to a friend in the mail for no extra postage. I think that this year I'm going to try and make more cards like this so I can send any extras to Operation Write Home for the troops.
The Digi Haven challenge runs for two weeks. Create a card with a winter theme that depicts that "Baby It's Cold Outside." You must use a digi image on your card to be eligible for a chance to win a prize from our sponsor and you must link your card to the Digi Haven Challenge blog post.
Hope to see you there!
